Charles Murray graduated and received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Boston College in 1970. He received his Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from Suffolk University Law School in 1973. The same year he was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and began his career as a trial lawyer with the Massachusetts Defender's Committee defending indigent clients against criminal prosecution in jury and non-jury trials for the next two years. In 1975 he was recruited by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office to join an elite group of prosecutors in the Major Violator's Division where he prosecuted numerous high profile felony cases including first-degree murders.

In 1978 he joined the firm of McGuire, Collias and Horvitz in Fall River where he served as trial counsel in a variety of civil jury and non-jury cases including plaintiff and defense personal injury and business litigation matters. In 1985 he became trial counsel to one of the largest law firms in southeastern Massachusetts where he handled complex personal injury and business litigation matters, supervised the operations of a branch office and was appointed head of the firm's litigation department.

In July of 1996 he established the Law Offices of Charles A. Murray, P.C. in New Bedford where he is a recognized civil litigator in personal injury and other civil disputes involving individuals and commercial enterprises.

Mr. Murray has more than 30 years of trial experience in both State and Federal Courts in and out of Massachusetts. He has been involved in the negotiation and mediation of civil disputes for over 25 years. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and serves as a conciliator for the New Bedford District Court. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys for the last several years and lectured at a number of continuing legal education seminars. He is a long time member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He also serves on the Bar Council of the New Bedford Bar Association and is chairman of its Mentor Committee.

He is an avid boater, sailor and sailing competitor and lives with his wife Susan in South Dartmouth, MA.
